I’ve been working through a book layout and realized that good design is more than choosing attractive fonts. How do designers keep pages consistent when chapters have different headings, quotes, tables, or illustrations? What problems usually appear when graphic design typesetting is handled too quickly? I’d appreciate serious advice from authors or designers who have dealt with messy layouts, especially when preparing a book for both print and digital formats.
