GuestHi everyone, I’m feeling pretty embarrassed even asking this but I’ve only been living in Abu Dhabi for about four months and I still don’t know all the unspoken rules of getting help when something goes wrong with the car. This morning I went to the supermarket near my apartment, nothing fancy just grabbing some bread and milk, and when I came back out after maybe ten minutes my car just wouldn’t start at all. The lights on the dashboard were dim and flickering and then everything went dark when I turned the key. I popped the hood to take a look even though I honestly have no clue what I’m doing under there, and the battery terminals looked clean enough so I don’t think it’s a connection issue. A nice guy in the parking lot offered to give me a push start but my car is automatic so that didn’t work either. I stood there for a good twenty minutes just scrolling through my phone trying to figure out who to call because I didn’t want to pay some crazy expensive fee from a random number I found on Google. Eventually I remembered that a coworker had mentioned something about quick car jumpstart assistance Abu Dhabi being available even for people like me who don’t have a fancy roadside assistance plan. I found their number after digging through my messages and the guy came within half an hour which honestly felt like a miracle considering how hot it was getting just standing there. He got my car running in maybe two minutes and charged me a fair price so I was really relieved. But now I’m worried because this is the second time in three weeks that my battery has acted up. The first time I just assumed I left my headlights on by accident but now I’m thinking maybe the battery itself is dying and needs to be replaced. Does anyone know a trustworthy garage that can test my battery properly without trying to sell me a bunch of other stuff I don’t need? Also how much should I expect to pay for a decent battery here because I really don’t want to get ripped off. Thanks for reading and for any help you can offer.
