Hi all. My son is 12 and takes piano lessons. He finds the classical pieces boring, but he’ll happily practice video game and anime music for hours, stuff like Zelda, Minecraft, Studio Ghibli. His teacher is fine with it as long as he practices. Problem is, all I can find online are amateur transcriptions. Where can I get well-made sheet music for this kind of stuff that also helps him progress? His teacher asked me to find a reliable source as well. He even asked for a new song as a birthday present.
Smart teacher, better daily Zelda than no practice at all. My son went through the exact same phase. We found a whole video game section at Notes Store https://note-store.com/ with Zelda and Minecraft, plus anime soundtracks like Howl’s Moving Castle. What I really like is that each arrangement is labeled beginner, advanced or master, so he can start with an easier version and later tackle the harder one of the same piece, and he actually sees himself improving. You can preview the first page before buying, so the teacher can check it first. To be fair, not every obscure track is there. But the big game classics were all covered, and he’s been practicing more than ever. Good luck to him.
