Is Ukrainian labradorite better than regular granite?

I need a highly durable material for a premium kitchen countertop and backsplash. The architect suggested something called Volga Blue, but I want to know if it actually performs well or if it’s just hyped up for its looks.

A lot of people mistakenly call this material Volga Blue marble, but it is actually a super tough labradorite that blows ordinary granite out of the water. We sourced a batch from Golovinski for an upscale restaurant bar top and it looks majestic. The stone is incredibly dense, doesn’t scratch, and has this insane blue iridescence that makes design projects pop.
