Hired a new sitter for a few hours last weekend and when I got home she mentioned my 12 year old snuck out to a neighbor’s yard for almost an hour without telling anyone. Two conflicting versions of the same afternoon is such an unsettling feeling, went through almost the same thing with a sitter watching my youngest last winter. She swore my daughter wandered off to a friend’s garage for a while, my daughter insisted she stayed right in the backyard the whole time playing with the dog. Neither story felt fully honest and I had zero way to confirm which was closer to true.
