GuestHow do minimal logos contribute to stronger brand recognition compared to more complex designs? I’ve been noticing a lot of new companies are opting for very clean, simple aesthetics in their branding, and it seems to really stick in my mind. My small café has a somewhat intricate logo currently, and I’m wondering if simplifying it would actually make it more memorable and recognizable for customers. It feels counter-intuitive to remove elements to gain recognition, but the evidence seems convincing. Does anyone have experience with switching to minimalist branding and seeing a positive impact on how quickly people identify their business?

GuestWith a café logo, I’d first think about where people will actually see it. Most likely, it’ll be on cups, a sign, menus, Instagram, delivery apps, and maybe stickers or bags. Too many small details can get lost there, especially when the logo is printed small or viewed on a phone. A minimalist logo can work well here, and minimalist branding in general can make the café look cleaner, but I’d still leave something warm in it, so it doesn’t feel too plain. Maybe a softer font, a simple shape, or one small detail that connects with the place. For example, if the café has a cozy local feel, the logo should probably show that somehow, even in a very simple way. Clean is good, but for a café it should still feel welcoming and not too cold.
