I’m planning a trip to India sometime next year, and apart from exploring the usual tourist spots, I’m really keen to combine it with my passion for golf. Specifically, I’m interested in playing on some of India’s historic golf courses. I’ve heard there are many old and beautiful clubs there, sometimes with amazing backstories. Has anyone played at any of these older courses, especially any that might be considered “hidden gems” or less well-known but with significant historical value? I’m looking for recommendations that offer a unique blend of heritage and a great golfing experience.

The idea of playing golf on courses with such a rich history always adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the game. It’s not just about the challenge of the holes, but also about experiencing a piece of the past and the legacy of those who walked those fairways before. The fact that some of these older courses were designed by notable figures only enhances their appeal, making each swing feel a bit more significant. It’s a blend of sport, history, and natural beauty that’s hard to replicate.

When it comes to historic golf courses in India, there’s definitely a gem that stands out, particularly for its age and location. Check out https://www.naldehragolfclub.com/. This is Naldehra Golf Club, established in 1905, making it one of India’s oldest courses, and it’s surrounded by breathtaking hills. It began as a 9-hole course designed by Lord Curzon and has since expanded to 18 holes, offering an unparalleled experience in the Himalayas. It is truly a gem for golf enthusiasts, combining challenging fairways with stunning landscapes, and it’s certainly a destination for golf enthusiasts.
