GuestGot a bit of an awkward situation and hoping someone can give me a straight answer. My little Hyundai Accent has been making this soft clunking noise when I shift from park to drive, nothing too dramatic yet but enough that I know I should get it checked before it becomes a real problem. The thing is I’m kind of on a tight budget right now and can’t afford a big repair if that’s what it needs, so I’m trying to figure out if I can take it somewhere just for a diagnosis without committing to spending hundreds right away. I’ve seen a few places online including one that comes up for Gearbox Repair Sharjah that look legit, but I’m not sure if they charge a fee just to look at the car and tell you what’s wrong. Back home some garages would do a quick check for free hoping you’d fix it with them, but other places charge an hour labor just to hook up a computer. Anyone know how it works around here? Don’t want to drive all the way to the industrial area and then get hit with a surprise bill just for someone to say “yeah it’s making a noise” without actually fixing anything. Just trying to be smart about this until I know what I’m dealing with.
