Lately I’ve been thinking about whether AI tools can actually replace learning from a real coach. A while back I tried a few coaching sessions, and it was helpful to get direct feedback, especially on mistakes I didn’t even notice. But at the same time, it wasn’t cheap, and sometimes I felt like I needed more repetition rather than just explanations. Recently I’ve seen people talking about AI-based tools that analyze hands and give structured advice, and it made me wonder if that could be a more practical alternative. Do you think AI can fully replace a human coach, or is there still something important missing?

It’s interesting to see how learning methods are changing in general, not just in games but in other areas too. Some people prefer guidance from real people, while others feel more comfortable learning at their own pace with tools and technology. I guess it depends on how someone processes information and what keeps them motivated over time. Different approaches probably work better for different people.

I’ve actually tried both approaches, and I’d say they serve slightly different purposes. A human coach is great for personalized feedback and motivation, especially when you’re stuck or not sure what to focus on. But AI tools can give you something coaches often can’t—constant availability and tons of analysis. I started using tools like Poker Solver mainly to review my hands and understand optimal decisions in different spots. What I noticed is that it helped me build a strong foundation, especially in terms of logic and consistency. However, a coach can still point out mental leaks or adjust advice based on your personality. So in my experience, AI doesn’t fully replace coaching, but it can reduce how much you depend on it and make your learning process more efficient.
